Copps Castle is situated on a very quiet country lane surrounded by fields just North of Hartland village which is halfway between the old market town of Bideford and the Cornish beach resort of Bude. br / br / The property a self build project completed in 1999 combines all the benefits of a modern home alongside traditional features such as an inglenook fireplace with wood burner flagstone flooring on the ground floor and bespoke soft furnishings throughout. All the bedrooms look out to the garden and open fields beyond. Breakfast is served at out large dining table where guests can exchange tips on places to visit and eat in the local area. br / br / Located within the Hartland Peninsula a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty we are less than a mile from the rugged South West Coastal Path with its dramatic scenery and breathtaking views. We suggest guests visit nearby Hartland Quay to see the slate cliffs and unique rock formations rising above the breakers rolling in from the Atlantic. Hartland Point and Lighthouse is another local spot for impressive views of the rocky coastline and the base for the Lundy Island heliport during the winter months. br / br / The award winning Docton Mill Gardens & Tea Room along with Hartland Abbey & Gardens are only a short drive away. Hartland Abbey and the surrounding grounds have been used as set locations for Sense and Sensibility The Night Manager and the film Guernsey to be released in 2018. br / br / There are three village pubs two small convenience stores two potteries a coffee shop and gallery in Hartland village.Our local restaurant Pattard Kitchen is less than a mile away. br / br / The world famous village of Clovelly with its meandering cobbled street leading to the harbour is a 4.5 mile drive or for those keen walkers among you take the coastal path. br / br / For those guests wishing to explore further the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor Tapeley Park GardensDartington Glass & Arlington Court are also popular places of interest.

Our delightful 19th century Farmhouse is situated on a quiet country road approximately 1 mile from the village of Clovelly and the South West Coastal footpath. Ideally situated for exploring the area and further afield. br / br / br / br / The house itself is full of character with open fires flagstone floors and exposed beams. The rooms are very comfortable spacious and light furnished with antiques and period furniture. Look out of your window in the morning and amongst the cattle grazing in the fields you may well spot a Deer Fox or passing Pheasant. br / br / br / br / We are rated as 4 gold stars with the AA and also hold a prestigious AA Breakfast award for the high standard and wide selection of choices available. We have been awarded the Tripadvisor certificate of Excellence every year since 2012 br / br / br / br / We are perfectly situated above the wonderful village of Clovelly where the cobbled street meanders to the harbour unchanged for generations and well worth a visit. By staying close to the village you have the chance to visit early in the morning or enjoy a leisurely dinner when the tourists have all gone..then it s just you and a few locals! br / br / br / br / There are many beaches both sandy (Bude or Westward Ho!) or small rocky coves in easy reach. The dramatic coastline of the Hartland peninsular should not be missed enjoy the staggering cliffs and beach at Hartland Quay or visit Hartland point and see the old lighthouse. br / br / br / br / If you like visiting historic properties look no further than Hartland Abbey (much of the BBCs Sense & Sensibility was filmed here) the National Trust property Arlington Court close to Barnstaple or Tapeley Park at Instow. br / br / br / br / The award winning gardens at Docton Mill Hartland (sample their cream tea too) or the RHS gardens at Rosemoor (Torrington) are spectacular at any time of year. br / br / br / br / If you fancy trying out your sea legs why not visit Lundy Island just off the coast. The Oldenburg sails regularly from Bideford (10 miles) or charters can be arranged from Clovelly.
