The Dinner Table Bistro, Lynton
Food is a very important part of the North Walk House experience. They are passionate about it and as members of Slow Food UK, they believe that food should taste good and be enjoyed; be produced in a way that respects the environment, human health and animal welfare; and that food producers are treated fairly. Accordingly your food will travel as little as possible to reach the dinner table at North Walk House, and seasonal foods will guide the menu choices on a monthly basis.
Dinner is available to guests on request. The aim is to provide a seasonal menu with a quality taste, well prepared and carefully cooked on the Aga. Sit around the large refectory style dining table, with sea views, and a log burning stove in winter. Seating aims to respect individual’s privacy while allowing other guests to share conversation. To compliment the food the premises are licensed, allowing them to serve drinks and wine from their carefully selected wine list. Relax and enjoy the experience, candlelight and a little gentle music.
North Walk House strives to obtain their Food direct from local farmers who provide free range/organic produce.

The Rockford Inn, Lynton
The Rockford Inn lies hidden in oak woodland alongside the East Lyn River as it flows through the peaceful Brendon Valley. The countryside around Rockford is some of the most breathtaking in the UK - sandwiched between the bleak windswept moors of the Exmoor National Park and the rugged coastline of North Devon. The Rockford Inn, one of the smallest hotels in Devon, dates from the 17th century and provides a cosy atmosphere in which to stay, dine or just relax watching the wildlife along the river.
The food is tasty and reflects what is in season. A typical meal might be: pan-fried garlic mushrooms, oak smoked chicken, or a traditional prawn cocktail for Starters; the Main course an 8oz rump steak, Greek salad, Indonesian chicken satay, tikka masala, pasta carbonara, or a tasty fish pie of smoked haddock, salmon fillet and succulent north Atlantic prawn. Desserts include chocolate and brandy sponge surprise.
