The Two Moors Festival
12th - 21st October
A classical music festival taking place in churches and other venues across Exmoor and Dartmoor with chamber music, song recitals, an orchestral concert, jazz and talks. 12th October 2018 to 21st October from 7:30pm
The Two Moors Festival is unique: a nationally renowned rural music festival where people from all walks of life experience and enjoy extraordinary music performed by world-class artists, in stunning locations.
The Festival was born out of the devastation caused by the Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak in 2001, which decimated the UK farming and tourism industries. John and Penny Adie, Devon locals, were inspired to help regenerate the local economy and bring light and encouragement to people’s lives by producing a week of stunning music-making on the ‘Two Moors’ of Exmoor and Dartmoor.
With help, support and encouragement from many generous city and country-based benefactors, Penny and the team continue to bring world-class artists to one of the most remote, beautiful - and culturally underserved - corners of England, so new and existing audiences can experience remarkable live music first hand.
More than a festival: Each October arts centres, village halls, churches, country houses and sometimes even railway stations and indoor markets across 1,200 square miles of Dartmoor and Exmoor spring to life with inspirational performances, talks, exhibitions, schools workshops and masterclasses.
