Rixhill and Anderton Mines Mine, Devon

Rixhill and Anderton Mines lie just over a mile southeast of Tavistock. The group included Rixhill Mine, New Anderton Mine and Old Anderton Mine. Rixhill mine to the west worked a tin lode from Engine Shaft. New Anderton worked the same lode from Murray's Shaft whilst Old Anderton Mine worked the lode from Old Anderton Engine Shaft and Old Shaft. Rixhill produced 134 tons of black tin between 1852 and 1855. New Anderton mine raised 202 tons of black tin between 1882 and 1889.
