Walkham United lies just over a mile south of the village of Whitchurch, near Tavistock. Also known as Old Poldice and Devon Poldice, the mine produced small amounts of copper and tin and was located on the west bank of the River Walkham about 600 metres southeast of Grenofen Bridge in Sticklepath Wood.
