Aunk village, Devon

Aunk is a hamlet in East Devon, close to Cullompton. The place-name is of Celtic origin along with other local place-names such as Hemyock and Whimple.

Aunk appears in the Domesday Book of 1086 which states that in 1086 was one Ralph of Pomeroy. Prior to the Norman Conquest, the Lord was one Burgred of Aunk.
