Bradiford village, Devon
Formerly a small hamlet just northeast of Pilton. Bradiford has now been swallowed up by the expansion of Barnstaple town and is now little more than a suburb.
The Bradiford Valley is a SSSI, (Site of Special Scientific Interest), and is important for its ancient sessile oak woodland and associated breeding birds. Additional habitats are provided by an old mill leat, pond, stream and several meadows. The whole site supports a diverse wildlife in close proximity to Barnstaple.
