Brendon village, Devon
Brendon is a small village and parish in the far North of Devon. It lies high on Exmoorm close to the border with Somerset. The village lies about 1.5 miles southeast of Lynton in the East Lyn Valley. The present village church dedicated to the 6th century Irish saint, St. Brendon was largely rebuilt in 1738, possibly using parts of the original church. It was renovated again in 1828 and 1873. The village lies just south of the A39 and had a population of just 159 in the 2001 Census. Brendon lies in the EX35 postcode district.
