Broadhembury village, Devon
As well as a village, Broadhembury is a civil parish in East Devon. It lies about 5 miles northwest of Honiton.just off the A373. The village takes its name from Hembury Fort, an Iron Age earthwork situated southeast of the villagehigh on the sploes of the Blackdown Hills.
Broadhembury is a very picturesque village with many of its houses built from cob and thatch. It is situated within the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local Inn is the Drewe Arms, a former house dating from Tudor times. The village church is mainly 14th Century and is dedicated to St. Andrew.
The village lies in the EX14 postcode district and had a population of 654 in the 2001 census.
