Denbury village, Devon

Denbury is a large village located about three miles southwest of Newton Abbot in the Teignbridge district of South Devon. The village lies between Totnes and Newton Abbot and is nine miles northwest of Torquay. The Iron Age hill fort of Denbury Hill lies south west of the village. Denbury Manor was owned by Ealdred, Archbishop of York, before the Norman conquest of England in 1066. The village church is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin and dates from the 12th century
