Dittisham village, Devon
Dittisham is a picturesque village situated on the west bank of the River Dart, about 3 miles northwest of Dartmouth. The former Dittisham Manor is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as being in the ownership of Baldwin de Bionus and its church was consecrated in 1333.
The church of St. George is predominantly a 15th and early 16th century building constructed of the local slate. It is well worth a visit if in the area.
The area was formerly noted for its plum orchards.
