Tavistock Music & Arts Festival (11 Apr - 7 May) Come to the 2012 Tavistock Music and Arts Festival, which will again sing the praises of all that our award winning Market Town has to offer. (27 Apr - 6 May) The Spring 2012 Exmoor Walking Festival is now open for bookings. This year the festival has changed slightly and will be predominantly focusing on the National Park running from West to East over the period. Starting in Ilfracombe and then basing walks around Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock and Dunster the festival includes over 30 walks with friendly expert guides. TivvyFest 2012 (1 May - 31 May) Tivvyfest is Tivertons Community Festival and brings together many local organisations in a month-long celebration of music, comedy, film, and more. Clare Teal at Barnfield Theatre, Exeter The UK's finest jazz singer and much loved performer Clare Teal makes a welcome return to song writing and recording with her tenth album HEY HO, a quote from the stunning opening track If Love Were All - a beautifully reflective song written by the grand master of song Noël Coward in 1929. Clare has twice been voted British Jazz Singer of the year and also the BBC's Jazz Singer of the year. Away from her singing work, Clare is becoming increasingly well known to radio listeners for her two weekly big band shows on BBC Radio 2, whether it be Clare Teal Sunday Night at 10pm or Big Band Special on Mondays at 11pm. Passionate about the music she plays on her shows, Clare is on a one woman mission to introduce younger audiences to the joys of big band music. Dart Music Festival (11 May - 13 May) The 2012 Dart Music Festival will be the 15th annual event since the Festivals inception in 1998. The Festival includes almost every type of music from rap to folk, from rock to orchestral, and from jazz to opera, and music is performed in venues all over the beautiful South Devon harbour town of Dartmouth, as well as on the main stage of the bandstand in Royal Avenue Gardens. The Festival is now one of the established features of the Dartmouth calendar, alongside Shakespeare Week and the Royal Regatta, and attracts great support from local residents and visitors. |
