Hollicombe Beach
Hollicombe Beach lies just to the north of Preston Sands at Paignton, separated from it by the rocks of Hollicombe Head overlooking Torbay on the South Devon coast.
Popular with families due to its ease of access through Hollicombe Gardens, and southeast-facing, the beach consists of coarse red Devon sand backed by rocks.
Parking is available beside Hollicombe Park, but please arrive early to ensure a space, otherwise park in Paignton. The length of stay is also limited to 4 hours.
Flanked by red sandstone cliffs, please take care not to sit below them as rock falls are not uncommon. At low water rock pools are exposed which may be of interest to younger members of your group.
There are fine walks along the South West Coast Path north and east to Torquay and Hope's Nose or south through Paignton to Brixham and Berry Head.
No facilities - the nearest toilets are located about a ten minute walk away at Preston Sands. There is no lifeguard cover
A seasonal dog ban applies at Hollicombe Beach, with dogs banned between 1st May and 30th September inclusive. There is however a dog exercise area in Hollicombe Park.
