Stone Lane Gardens is a 5 acre arboretum holding important National Collections of wild-origin Birch and Alder trees in a lovely landscaped water & woodland setting. Situated in the Dartmoor National Park and surrounded by beautiful scenery and yet only a few miles from the main roads.
The garden is open all year round, seven days a week, but most people visit during the Summer. Stone Lane Gardens Arboretum presents an imaginative and extensive Sculpture Exhibition, entitled "The Mythic Garden" . The exhibition runs until the 3rd October. There are over 100 sculptures on display, complemented by the informal planting of trees, shrubs and perennials. They are confident that you will enjoy their unique, peaceful garden; whether you are a lover of art or nature. The specialist Birch & Alder tree nursery grows most of the species shown in the arboretum. The nursery is open all year round, with all the larger stock being field-grown and available for purchase from November to April. During the summer they sell smaller trees in pots. Their mail order business also sends trees to customers throughout the UK. Please phone before visiting however to ensure someone is available to help with your tree selection.
