This Arts and Crafts house with child-friendly facilities on the edge of Beer village is a great choice for cheap family holidays and school trips. For an activity break, try mackerel fishing and safe sea swimming at the nearby beach, scuba diving and, for a real Jurassic coast holiday, fossil hunting. For walking holidays there's the nearby the South West Coastal Path.
The driveway is steep and narrow with a hairpin turn half way up. Please note the parking directions on the car park notice board to allow access for emergency vehicles.

Dartmoor, Bellever
If you want to get away from it all for an outdoor activity break, YHA Dartmoor is the perfect spot. The hostel is surrounded by the open moorland and forest of Dartmoor National Park, with access to a network of off-road routes for walking and cycling holidays - it’s a comfortable, child-friendly, rural retreat and provides a perfect base for family rambles. The famous Dartmoor ponies often pay us a visit from the open moorland – always a favourite with visiting children.

Elmscott Bunkhouse
Walkers, surfers and bird watchers will love this next-to-nature retreat. Clovelly is nearby with its cobbled streets and pretty harbour. A former Victorian school, Elmscott is surrounded by unspoilt coastline with views of Lundy Island. The accommodation is just minutes away from the South West Coast Path, which passes spectacular coves and wide river mouths, the area is great for walking holidays.
YHA Elmscott is self-catering, but there's a well stocked shop on site. Negotiable rates available for group and family bookings.

Exeter
Jurassic coast accommodation with easy access to the city of Exeter, you can find plenty of tranquillity in this spacious, 17th century house set in private grounds. YHA Exeter is set close to the River Exe and the ship canal. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and just a few miles from the sea, there are plenty of walks and interesting day trips to tempt you on an activity holiday. For a great city break try the catacombs, museums, galleries and shops of Exeter itself - there's plenty to do for a weekend away. Our licensed restaurant offers an excellent menu.
There is no access to the hostel during the day, so please check in between 17.00 and 22.30. YHA Exeter is a popular location, so please book in advance. Sorry, but due to its residential location YHA Exeter is not suitable for stag and hen parties.

Great Hound Tor Camping Barn
This former farmhouse is located on the eastern edge of Dartmoor near the village of Manaton, in the shadow of Hound Tor. The barn is perfect for exploring Dartmoor's Tors, with Haytor, Saddle Tor and Widecombe in the Moor being close by. There are two upstairs sleeping galleries and a large recreation/cooking area and a shower on the ground floor. NOTE: Barn sleeps 14 people.

Lydford Camping Barn
Lydford Camping Barn is located at the Fox and Hounds Hotel, close to the village of Lydford. The barn is within easy reach of Dartmoor with its 450 miles of rights of way, numerous cycle routes and stunning scenery - perfect for walking holidays. Dartmoor is also home to some of the best archaeological sites in Western Europe, so there's plenty to see and do in the area. The barn has two dormitories, each with six bunks, electric lighting and a shower.

Mullacott Camping Barn
These former stables on a small working farm are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Exmoor. The main sleeping areas are above ground platforms and 6 bunk beds. The barn sleeps 8 in one large area, plus small ‘stalls’ each sleeping 2-4 people and has electric lighting, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has coin-operated facilities including hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and hot water and there is basic cooking equipment and cutlery available. There are separate showers and toilets adjacent to the barn along with covered storage, picnic area and car parking. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Eggs, bacon and sausage can be bought from the farmhouse to set you up for the day. NOTE: The Barn sleeps 20 people.

Okehampton
Get active and get an adventure at YHA Okehampton. This old railway goods shed set on the edge of Dartmoor has been converted to a modern hostel offering accommodation for individuals, families and groups. Great centre for exploring the wilds of Dartmoor or stopping off on the National Cycle route. After a day of activities, settle down for an evening meal in our licensed restaurant serving locally sourced food, beers and Devon cider.

Okehampton Bracken Tor
Bracken Tor Adventure Centre lies within Dartmoor National Park above Okehampton. Bracken House and the adjacent Filter House lie in four acres of landscaped gardens, with campfires, picnic areas and play areas. Both offer great accommodation for groups and family reunions giving immediate access to stunning Dartmoor. Bracken Tor offers adventure holidays, training courses (Climbing, Watersports, Navigation) and is a great venue to get active and get an Adventure.

Runnage Camping Barn
Two barns, one a former table hay loft and shippon, the other converted stables on a traditional working farm in the centre of Dartmoor, close to Bellever Forest and the River Dart. Both barns sleep 15 people. A great location for activity breaks including walking, cycling, climbing and canoeing. Mountain bike hire is available on site, so you can get out and explore the area. NOTE: The Barn sleeps 15 people.

Salcombe
YHA Salcombe a wonderful place to stay for a cheap family holiday, there’s so much to do in the area. For a great activity break, you'll find all kinds of watersports nearby including sailing, bodyboarding, surfing, and kayaking. If you're looking for more of an educational break, there’s lovely fishing villages, gardens, museums, historical sites and fashionable Salcombe itself to visit. Relax in one of our sea-facing lounges, with views of the National Trust’s gardens, and eat in our wood-panelled dining room.
Parking and check in are only available from 5pm - the car park is shared with the National Trust who have sole use between 10am and 5pm.

Westward Ho!
Set in an elevated position overlooking the sandy beach and Northam Burrows, YHA Westward Ho! is only a couple of minutes walk from the award winning blue flag beach and even closer to the village and its local amenities. Perfect as a base for activity breaks and family holidays or weekend stays, the building has a fresh contemporary look and feel. The area offers great opportunities for walking, hiking and cycling holidays.
Not all of our rooms will fit a travel cot, please call to book, all under 18's need to call to book. We have many nights available at £9.99 off peak Sundays to Wednesdays.
