Hele
Hele or Hele Bay beach lies on the North Devon coast between Combe Martin and Ilfracombe.
It is sheltered by the headlands of Beacon Point and Rillage Point. Northwest facing, the gently shelving beach is easily accessible and is a mixture of grey/yellow sand and shingle, with low rocky platforms.
Situated just to the east of Ilfracombe, Hele Bay beach lies adjacent to the Hillsborough Nature Reserve and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is family friendly and there are several rock pools to explore at low tide. Dogs are allowed under control.
As for facilities, a car park, toilets, shops, café and pub all lie within easy walking distance.
For keen ramblers, the South West Coast Path runs bhind the beach heading west over Hillsborough to Ilfracombe or east towards Watermouth and Combe Martin.
