Putsborough Sand

Putsborough Sand is the name given to the quieter southern end of the northwest-facing two mile stretch of Woolacombe Sands on the North Devon coast.
One of North Devon's most popular beaches along with Croyde and Saunton Sands, Woolacombe can be very busy in high season. The Putsborough end can often be less busy as it lies further from the facilities and other attractions of the resort.
Sheltered to the south and west from the imposing bulk of Baggy Point, the beach is backed by dunes. It is accessed from its own paying car park and offers a fine stretch of golden sand with some excellent surf on a gently sloping beach. The beach attracts surfers of all abilities eager to test the Atlantic swell. Family friendly, the sand has excellent castle building qualities and is large enough for most types of beach games.
The beach is managed locally and is accessed by steps. Toilets are located nearby with all the other facilities located at the Woolacombe end.
