Ivy Tor Mine is situated about a quarter of a mile southwest of Belstone Mine near Okehampton. It lies on the southern bank of the River Taw. The mine commenced working in the 1840's. Initially an adit was driven into the hills discovering mispickel, bismuth and copper ore lodes. A shaft was sunk in 1845 to access these lodes. By 1865 the mine was 42 fathoms deep and in 1866 the mine was incorporated into Belstone Consols and renamed Taw River Mine. In 1878 it changed its name again to the Prince of Wales Mine. There are no records of output.
