Small's Cove
Small's Cove beach lies on the eastern bank of the Kingsbridge Estuary opposite Salcombe on the South Devon coast.
Adjacent to Fisherman's Cove the beach faces northwest and as the water recedes at low tide the beaches join to form one continuous beach with Mill Bay. The beach consists of gently sloping fine golden sand and the great views make the beaches here very popular with families.
Like its neighbouring beaches of Mill Bay and Fisherman's Cove, it looks across the Salcombe Harbour to the town.
The sandy beach is very picturesque and the waves quite gentle. It does however get completely covered at high tide. Swimmers should take care not to stray away from the beach as there can be dangerous undercurrents away from the shore.
Access is easy and its proximity to the town of Salcombe and the village of East Portlemouth, means that the beach can be busy in high season.
Parking is available at the National Trust car park in Mill Bay or in the small free car park in East Portlemouth. The nearest toilets are located at Mill Bay.
All other facilities are a ferry ride away in Salcombe.
Dogs are permitted all year (please check local signage for up to date information).
