A component part of Devon Great Consols in the Tamar Valley, part of the West Devon Mining District. The mine situated about a mile north of Gunnislake on the eastern banks of the River Tamar. South Wheal Fanny is located about half a mile south of the Main Lode and was worked from Engine Shaft. Other lodes include No. 1 Lode and South Fanny Lode worked from South Fanny Shaft. It connects with Wheal Frementor to the west.
