Shoalstone
Shoalstone beach lies on the northern side of Berry Head, near Brixham on the South Devon coast.
A northwest-facing beach of rock and shingle, Shoalstone Beach also has its own a 53 metre seawater swimming pool, patrolled by lifeguards. Free to use, (donations accepted), it was constructed over a natural rock pool in 1896. Access to the Pool is limited for disabled users - there is a ramp to the promenade, but steps lead down from the car park to the Pool and then onto the beach. The actual Pool area is level.
Facilities include deckchair, sun lounger and chalet hire. There is a picnic area above the Pool, otherwise refreshments are available from beach café. The Public Conveniences at Shoalstone are seasonal (open April to October).
Rock pools are sure to enthrall younger members of your group whilst keen ramblers will enjoy the walk east to Berry Head and its Country Park.
Dogs are not allowed onto the Pool surround. They are permitted on the promenade above the Pool but must be kept on their leads.
