Huntingdon Mine Mine, Devon

Huntingdon Mine is situated on Southern Dartmoor, about five miles west sou'west of Ashburton. The mine has also been known as Avon Consols, becoming Devon Wheal Vor in 1863, and New Huntington Mine in 1864. Prior to its closure in 1868 it was briefly known as Devon Consols Tin Mine. The major lode was called Main Lode and there are also a number of other east-west trending lodes as well as the northeast trending Gibby's Beam Lode. The only recorded shaft working on the sett was Engine Shaft. There are no detailed records of production.
