Runnaford Coombe Mine, Devon

Also known as Combe Mine, Runnaford is located just over three miles southwest of Ashburton and worked a copper lode by opencast methods as well as a pair of shafts called Jeffrey's Shaft and Morris's Shaft. The mine commenced work in 1834 on the north side of the River Mardle, about 400 yards southwest of Scorriton. Its zenith being between 1848 and 1853.
