Wheal Maristow lies just under two miles southeast of Bere Alston on the banks of the River Tavy. It was an old silver-lead mine working the same lode as Lopwell Mine and Wood Mine. There is some confusion amongst mining historians as to the exact location of this mine all that is known is that it existed in the locality of Maristow House southwest of Yelverton.
