William and Mary Mine, Devon

William and Mary Mine is situated on the west bank of the River Tavy, it lies on the eastern extension of the lode worked in the George and Charlotte Mine at Morwellham Quay. Its two main shafts were Engine Shaft and Whim Shaft. Together the mines formed Devon and Cornwall United Mines. About 100 fathoms of untried ground separates the mines. Output from 1852-69 was 16,595 tons copper ore and 110 tons of Pyrite.
