Coryton Mine is situated about five and a half miles northeast of Milton Abbot near Tavistock. The mine worked two ore bodies of manganese ore from Ladder Shaft and a number of un-named shafts. Between 1867 and 1868 Coryton raised 3,290 tons of manganese ore combined with Chillaton & Hogstor, Lifton, Sydenham and Lewtrenchard mines.
