Frankmills Mine lies just under two miles south of Christow, on the east of Dartmoor. The mine worked on West Lode and East Lode from Engine Shaft. An engine house and ivy covered chimney remain standing near Hyner Farm.
The 1856 Post Office Directory stated that .
Active between 1854 and 1880, production records report that between 1857 and 1880 - 14,813 tons of 66% lead ore and 248,530 ounces of silver were raised. In 1876-77 - 873 tons of barytes were produced. Between 1872 and 1880 - 422 tons of iron ore were raised and in 1880 - 176 tons of fluorspar were produced.
