Ward Mines Mine, Devon
Calstock: grid reference SX427687
South Ward Mine and North Ward Mine lie close to the river about one mile southwest of Calstock. The mine worked Main Lode from Engine Shaft. Work at the mine was suspended in 1835 when the river broke into the workings. It reopened in 1869.
Production records report that between 1873 and 1876 - 130 tons of 56% lead ore and 390 ounces of silver.
